The Foundation’s Sutainability Project

The Banco Santander Foundation is pleased to offer its support to the development of MACBA’s Sustainability Project, which will organise debate days, seminars and conferences on new practices in sustainability, dissemination activities and the promotion of social responsibility actions in sustainability.
On 15 November 2022, the first debate conference of Museums and Sustainability took place at the MACBA Museum. Its aim was to share experiences and generate debate with directors, managers and programmers of the main pioneering cultural institutions in the field of sustainability.
Furthermore, there was discussion on the sustainability initiatives being implemented in museums, emphasising the significance of cross-departmental collaboration in areas such as energy consumption, carbon footprint reduction, digitalisation, management, content programming, and the role of the collection.

The children of the neighbourhood programme
The programme, entitled “Els nens i nenes del barri” and “Grup de joves”, allows children from 9 to 12 years old and young people from 12 years old in the Raval neighbourhood to experience the museum with an artist through creative activities.
The Digital MACBA Collection
A virtual journey through the MACBA Collection, filled with curiosities and exclusive unreleased content, hearing the voices of the artists and exploring the more unusual prespectives of the collection.
