21st and 23rd January
Evening of photography at ‘Watch! Watch! Watch!’ by Henri Cartier-Bresson
Our exclusive programme for collaborators resumes with a first-hand visit of one of the 20th century’s most renowned photographers, Henri Cartier-Bresson, at Fundación MAPFRE’s KBr centre with the exhibition ‘Watch! Watch! Watch!
Cartier-Bresson is an essential artist to understand contemporary photography, having captured the small day-to-day events of an era and co-founding the legendary Magnum photographic agency.
The exhibition has been curated by Ulrich Pohlmann and comprises 240 original prints, along with a selection of his publications in magazines and books, which are of great interest for understanding his career between 1930 and 1970. It also includes his early photographs and surrealist-influenced cinematographic works, as well as his political photographic reports, portraits of artists and writers, and photographs of everyday scenes.
